Look What We Got!

Meet Sasha....

and Mittens!

They are twin 3-month-old kittens we adopted this weekend.

And of course, instead of sleeping in the bed the rescue organization gave us....

or playing with any of their sweet toys....

They are both currently living under the couch. Oh well. I'm sure they'll warm up sooner than later.

In other news, I had my second bikini posing practice this weekend.

I'm starting to get the hang of it - it calls for a lot of sass and hip mobility! =) It's a good thing I'm getting it, too, because my show is less than four weeks away! It's starting to feel reeeaaalllllyyy real. I can't believe how much I've changed - physically and mentally - in the past twelve weeks, but that could constitute a post of its own.

Happy Monday!

  1. Oh my goodness!!! I died when I saw your kitties - they are too cute :D We also adopted our cat from a rescue shelter when he was 6 months old. He had been abused as a kitten so took a reaaaally long time (over a year!) to warm up to us. Now he can't get enough of us - he jumps on the bed all night long and comes right up to our faces because he wants pets! Sorry, off on a tangent...crazy cat lady ;)

My mouth literally hung open when I saw that picture of you posing. I didn't even recognise you! You are hot, hot, hot missy!! And less than four weeks....eek. You've totally got it in the bag though!

Oh and can you please do a post on how (if at all!) your nutrition and training changed when you switched to bikini?

    1. These babies were strays so they're still not too sure what to make of us! They are already warming up though.

I will definitely write a post about the differences in training & nutrition!! They are subtle but that is something I get asked a lot.

    1. Thank you so much Laura! =)

I had to learn to use my hips too - my biggest tip is to just totally relaaax. Cross your arms and get in the mindset of a bored teenager ;-)

  8. Cats never sleep where they're meant to sleep! Last night my big fuzzball slept on MY side of the bed, with his head on MY pillow, while I had to curl up on the other site. The cheek!

    Your kittens are too cute!!

    1. I have never once had a cat that's used a cat bed or slept at the foot of my bed =( It's very sad.

  9. Looking good! I'm so excited to see your progress over the next 4 weeks. And oh my gosh, adorable kittens! They are going to be a handful as soon as they come out from under the couch, so enjoy their first few shy days ;D

  11. Awww, kittens!
(probably a good thing you adopted them so young - a friend of mine adopted what she thought was a slightly chubby cat. A few weeks later she had 3 newborn kittens on her hands)

And the bikini pose - now that's amazing!
Makes me want to go find something heavy that I can lift for a while :-)

  12. Oh, the kittens just melted my heart. I didn't realise you had adopted two. And I love the names!

If I had money spare I would bet it all that you're going to place in the bikini category. In fact there really won't be any justice if you don't win, never mind place.

    I have kitten broodyness now.

  14. Your kittens are so cute! I spent a whole 5 munutes gushing over them! That was so sweet of you and Maz to adopt them. Rescue pets really need the love ;)

And damn girl! You look smoking! I admire your slow and steady yet impecably intelligent method of prepping. Your hard work definitely shows!

But...i have to ask...are those shoes kind of hard to walk in?

  15. You already know I'm about one cat short of being an OFFICIAL crazy cat woman, so I'm so excited about your new additions! You also look stunning in your suit...and happy!

  21. Awww.... look at the baby kitties! We always had them around when I was growing up, so I do miss them from time to time!

  22. I was ready to comment on the adorableness of your kitties, but then I spotted your body! Fucking fabulous. SO so so lovely! I'm not gonna lie, you weren't very pretty as your heavier version. I hated your big bulky muscles. HATED. Now you are FABULOUS. The hair can be modernised a bit... but the body speaks louder than hair. SO, congratulations, Sable.

      Such a pretty directive!

    3. What is your deal? Why does your compliment have to be backhanded? Sable has put a lot of effort into cultivating a body-positive forum for people, many of whom have experienced disordered thoughts and behaviors. It is really messed up that you make such conscious and repeated efforts to disturb that.

    5. I feel bad responding to this chain of comments before I make my way through the preceding comments - I know, weird, but that's why I haven't jumped in.

I have never said anything on GOMI that I don't stand behind, and I'm quite easy to find there. I'm not hiding. I think there is great, open discussion there that is not allowed on some blogs.

Anon1, I wish you would leave your e-mail address! I would love to get to know you. And Jess - I so appreciate you saying that I've created that kind of environment because that is exactly what I'm striving for!

    6. I think your hair is adorable Sable. It's obvious Nicole is envious of you, because you are gorgeous and she looks like she got hit by the ugly stick. You can starve yourself down to nothing nicole. No level of skinny can fix your kind of ugly.

    7. Holy LOL. Your comment about the ugly stick is very good. I'm going to use that in a few hours actually. Hahaha!

  23. Oh hot dayuuummm- you are looking smokin', Sable! Way to take the attention from the kitties! They're pretty cute too :)

  24. You are looking AMAZING - I'm sure you'll absolutely kill it! The twins are completely adorable and hopefully be out from under the couch causing havoc before you know it.

  25. Wow, can I have your body? haha. Ok, I know it's not all about looking hot, but seriously - you look hot!

Also, good for you for adopting!! I wish more people would look to rescue shelters for pets.
