Kind of like good cop / bad cop ;-)
Last Monday:
The Financial Aid office told me there was no way my FAFSA would be fixed by the August 17th tuition payment deadline and that I couldn't pay in installments.
This Monday:
The Financial Aid office told me there is a chance that my FAFSA will be fixed by August 25th, and if the classes I need are still open, I can add them. (But not full-time, because I can't stomach taking out loans for $1,100 a class at a state school.)
Last Tuesday:
I was told that despite the fact that I've been a resident of Florida for a year, I can't get in-state tuition until next July.
Today:
I'm starting back up at my old job. On the very same day I told my previous supervisor that I wouldn't be able to go to school full-time this semester, the girl who replaced me gave her two weeks' notice and when I said I could start today, she offered to vacate the position immediately.
And of course, last week there were no cats.
I'd say this week is off to a promising start.
Glad to see the little ones are getting more confident :)
ReplyDeleteArgh, people in finance need to get their act together. Thank goodness you're able to have your old job back! I can't believe you're still able to be so diligent with competition prep even amidst all of this external stress.
xxx
Seriously =( The stress and outside factors actually make it easier to prep... I have less time to over-think & get nervous!
Deletebathtub is definitely better than hiding under the couch! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey LOVE the bathtub! It's their favorite spot!
DeleteSasha and Mittens (a boy and a girl?) remind me of my two russians! So cute.
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish you all the best with all the craziness in your life. You are rocking it! ;)
Two girls! =) So funny you say that - Max's last cat was a Russian blue! :)
DeleteI can't believe how strong you are being through contest prep and everything while this is going on. So sorry this is happening, but thank goodness you were able to get your old job back!
ReplyDeleteSeriously!!! The timing was just incredible.
DeleteGlad to see things are looking up! I really hope you are able to get your financial aide worked out... And WOW about your old job opening up, talk about fate?!
ReplyDeleteRight?!?? I couldn't even believe it.
DeleteOh that sucks having to wait until July. Oh sucko suck. I bet the financial aid will come thru. Bastards. Go in every time you get and harass them if you have to. Make sure to wait list on classes that are full just in case someone drops.
ReplyDeleteA long time ago they did drop/add cards. Both same card, but you selected which one. I selected drop and completed the info and had the prof sign it and then erased it and added the class. Very very wrong. LOL. But I needed the class at that time and in order to graduate on time. Ya do what ya godda do.
Meanwhile aren't those kitties the cutest things ever. Crap day? Come home and pet cats.
Are you back at the Pediatrician's office?
Yep yep! Back at the Pediatrician's office haha. Yesterday was a very strange, deja-vu-filled day!
DeleteMy school in Montana had those same physical add/drop cards!
Glad to hear parts are looking up. While reading the title of your blog that is literally what I was thinking of. I've been super stressed with life as well so I understand that one.
ReplyDeleteUgh sorry to hear that Hollie =(
DeleteAhhh! I so don't miss dealing with school financial aid crap. Good for you for finding the joy in the cats!
ReplyDeleteThey are such little stress relievers! ;-)
DeleteI'm so sorry there have been so many obstacles for you - so glad you have your kitties, aren't they the best thing ever?
ReplyDeleteThey seriously are. I'm obsessed. haha
