Well, IF is great for some people. It worked reasonably well for me for quite some time. But lately I've become pretty, well, crazy. The fasting period would go perfectly fine, but once I started eating, I really had to force myself to stop. It's difficult to explain. I had these crazy, intense urges to keep eating even after I'd consumed a 1,000 calorie meal. I didn't cave to them, but I was really uncomfortable with the quasi-restrict/binge cycle I was repeating day after day.
Plus, as my "feasting" window shrank from 8 hours to 4 hours to more easily accommodate my deficit calories, I realized I was spending nearly all of my time with Max stuffing my face. And he's pretty cool, so I'd rather spend those few precious hours at the end of the day hanging out with him.
Intermittent Fasting definitely "works" as an eating schedule and it taught me a lot. For example, I'm no longer afraid of letting myself get a little hungry and I'm not paranoid about *having* to get some protein every 3 hours. But it's not working for me right now, so it's time to switch things up.
